Research videos by NMIN HQP take top prizes

Three-minute knowledge translation videos created by NMIN HQP Dr. Shahla Shojaei and Dr. Qurrat Ul Ain took top prizes in a research video competition sponsored by the Controlled Release Society – Canada Chapter (CRS-CC).

Dr. Shojaei, a postdoctoral fellow working with NMIN researcher Dr. Hagar Labouta at the University of Manitoba, won first place in the competition with her video “Dynamic Placenta-on-a-chip model to study targeted delivery of nanoparticles.”

Dr. Ul Ain, a postdoctoral fellow working with NMIN researcher Dr. Sarah Hedtrich at the University of British Columbia, won third place for her video “Gene editing for monogenic skin diseases (Ichthyiosis).”

The 3-Minute Research Video Competition was organized by the Young Scientists Committee (YSV) of the CRS-CC. Submissions were evaluated by  an independent panel of judges. The authors of the winning videos received cash prizes.
