LNP-RNA Therapeutics | Beyond COVID - CRS 2-Day Virtual Symposium

April 6th – 7th 2022, 9am - 5pm (EST)
Live or pre-record presentations with live Q&A segment

Organizers:
UK CPI, Juliana Haggerty and Philip Probert
NanoVation Therapeutics, Dominik Witzigmann and Valentina Francia

The Controlled Release Society (CRS) is running a 2-Day Virtual Symposium on April 6th & 7th, 2022. This LNP-RNA Therapeutics – Beyond COVID Symposium will focus on the hugely exciting prospect to build on the progress made in lipid nanoparticle and mRNA technologies during the pandemic. Many companies now have proven platforms, improved technologies, and more robust supply chains. The opportunity now is to look at where we go next in developing and applying this breakthrough technology beyond COVID-19 vaccines.
This symposium aims to bring together a wide selection of speakers from industry leaders as well as emerging start-ups with exciting new technologies and approaches. A fresh range of voices and perspectives will provide a unique programme for those already working in the field and those interested to learn about this high-growth area of medicine

The role of validation & retraction in upholding scientific integrity – How science gets corrected

NMIN Scientific Integrity Webinar

Thursday, April 7, 2022

9:00 – 10:00 pm (PDT) | 12:00 – 1:00 pm (EDT)

Rapid publication of results—particularly on pre-print servers—has grown dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has forced researchers, health care professionals, and journalists to grapple with the concept of reliable and actionable information.

The pandemic has given rise to more than 200 retractions at the time of this writing. Is that cause for concern?

My lens for this talk will be more than a decade of experience reporting on retractions for Retraction Watch, including creating the world’s most comprehensive database of retractions, with more than 32,000 and counting.

Liposomes – Six Decades On: The Old Kid On The Cancer Nanomedicine Block

Wednesday 20 April 2022

10-11:00 am PST | 1-2:00 pm EST

Dr. Francis Szoka focuses on improving gene, recombinant protein and drug delivery using biophysical, molecular biology and chemical approaches. He and his team have applied biophysical approaches to create methods and tools that are now widely used to manufacture liposomes, polyplexes and lipoplexes. They have extensively investigated the mechanisms of non-viral gene delivery. Their recent efforts in the treatment of cancer involves the design and synthesis of prodrugs and the generation of amorphous nanosized drug particles to improve the bioavailability of sparingly soluble anticancer drugs.
